WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is poised to win three of the four electoral votes in the US state of Maine, according to media reports.
“In Maine, Fox News can project that Clinton will win three electoral votes, though it’s too early to say who will win the fourth and final vote,” the report stated.
With 89 percent of votes counted in the northeastern state, Clinton led Trump, 48 percent to 45 percent.
Unlike the other 48 states, which award their electoral votes on a winner-take-all basis, votes from Maine and Nebraska are proportional, based on ballots cast by their respective residents on Election Day.
