MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The United States will be less involved in international cooperation efforts under the leadership of Donald Trump, while his foreign policy plans largely remain unknown, Stefan Schennach, an Austrian lawmaker and former head of PACE monitoring committee, told Sputnik.
"Nobody knows at the moment, which will be the program for foreign and security policy…. We have only a guy who will be president with zero knowledge about foreign policy and security. The future will not be easy and the US will reduce the engagement internationally, but the crazy situation is that we know nothing about his foreign program," Schennach said.
"This also Trump can't change," Schennach said.
Trump won the US presidential elections with 289 votes to become Barack Obama's successor. The Congress is scheduled to approve the results of the voting on January 6, 2017. The US president-elect will take office at the inauguration on January 20.
