MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The total number of settlements that have joined the cessation of hostilities in war-torn Syria has increased to 918, the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
"Within the last 24 hours, truce agreements have been reached with representatives of four settlements in Latakia (2), Damascus (1), and Homs (1) provinces, bringing the total number of settlements that have joined the ceasefire to 918," the bulletin reads.
Meanwhile, 41 violations of the ceasefire regime were registered in the last 24 hours by the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase.
"A total of 41 ceasefire violations by illegal militant groups have been registered in Damascus (18), Aleppo (17), Latakia (5), and Daraa (1) provinces," the ministry added.
The Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front, and the Islamic State terrorist groups, which have been outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
