MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow does not rule out contacts with outgoing US President Barack Obama's administration on Afghanistan, including at next month's regional dialogue, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s director of the Second Asian Department said.
"These meetings could be random," Zamir Kabulov told RIA Novosti. "Obama remains the president for now, all these functionaries will continue to operate, but again they cannot currently offer and develop without taking into account the views of the president-elect and his team. The Americans will be there, and if they would like to, they are welcome, we have never shied away from contacts", the Russian diplomat said.
Kabulov pointed out that the possible meeting could take place at the December 4 Heart of Asia — Istanbul Process in Amritsar, India.
