WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier at the event, Giuliani addressed reports that he was a front-runner to be the US secretary of state under US President-elect Donald Trump. He said former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton would be a good choice for the post.
Asked whether anyone else would be a better choice, Giuliani replied, “Maybe me, I don’t know.”
“I won’t be attorney general,” Giuliani said at an event Monday night sponsored by the Wall Street Journal.
Giuliani, a former prosecutor who gained fame as New York's mayor at the time of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, has little foreign-policy experience. However, he was a top adviser during Trump's presidential campaign.
