WARSAW (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, Polish President Andrzej Duda congratulated Trump on his victory in the presidential election during a telephone conversation, while the US president-elect stressed that Poland was a valuable US ally, and Washington was ready to cooperate with Warsaw in all spheres.
"We were treated very seriously, which makes me very glad, as by this conversation the president-elect indicated that, in his opinion… Poland is a leader in the region," Wilczek said in an interview with the RMF radio station published on Thursday.
The Polish ambassador also endorsed the choice of the US voters and expressed hope that the Polish-US relations would remain "good" under Trump’s administration.
Republican candidate Trump won the 2016 US presidential elections on November 8, securing more than 270 electoral votes needed for the victory.
