MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Following his victory in the US presidential election, Trump started negotiations to form his new administration. Flynn, who has been Trump's top military adviser during the campaign, has been repeatedly named as a candidate for the office of US national security adviser, according to US media.
According to the Yahoo News media outlet, Flynn started to receive the classified security briefings, while he was also the head of the Flynn Intel Group that offered "all-source intelligence support," including to the foreigners.
The media outlet added that Flynn had already issued a statement on plans to sever his relations with the company if he returned to government service under Trump.
On November 8, Trump managed to come ahead of his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the US presidential elections, securing 290 electoral votes.
