MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said he had had a very thorough and far-reaching discussion with US President-elect Donald Trump, after meeting him on Saturday.
"We had a far-reaching conversation with regards to the various theaters in the world where there are interests of the United States of real significance. We discussed those areas and exchanged our views on those topics," Romney told reporters.
Romney has been touted as Trump’s possible appointment to the post of the Secretary of State, despite his previously calling the property tycoon a "fraud." Romney, who lost against Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential race, did not tell journalists whether the offer had been made to him but added he looked forward to the coming administration.
