APEC Leaders Meet With IMF Head in Lima

The leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, have met on Sunday for talks with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde on IMF activity in the Asia-Pacific region.

LIMA (Sputnik) – Later in the day, two more meetings of APEC heads of states are expected take place in Lima. One them will be held in the form of a discussion during a working breakfast.

The leaders are set to adopt a final resolution, reflecting the coordinated approaches of the APEC member states to the cooperation development, as a result of all the meetings. Besides, the document will assess the present regional and global economic situation.

Peru has been hosting APEC's all-year-round meetings that culminated with the economic leaders' summit in its capital city of Lima, which started on Saturday. During the summit, the leaders of the 21 APEC states are expected to work out a strategic vision and guidelines for economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region for 2017.
