WARSAW (Sputnik) — The term of Poland's Permanent Representative to NATO Jacek Najder in office will expire in December and Waszczykowski is interested in the position, Polish Fakt magazine reported, citing unnamed sources.
A Polish member of the European Parliament, Ryszard Czarnecki, however, told the news outlet that Waszczykowski would not become the new ambassador to NATO.
Waszczykowski, who has been Poland's foreign minister since 2015, served as Poland's deputy permanent representative to NATO in 1997-1999.
