MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope on Tuesday for a joint work with the All-Russia People’s Front (ONF) in the sphere of ecology.
"Ecology has always been an important issue. Next year here [in Russia] is the year of ecology, and I hope that we will work together in this direction," Putin said at the ONF "Forum of Action."
The ONF is a civic movement, headed by the Russian president, which was formed in 2011 with the aim to promote dialogue between different political forces in the state.
Putin said in 2011 that he wanted the ONF to act as an umbrella movement for members of trade unions, NGOs, business associations and youth groups.
