WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Carson and Trump held a meeting earlier in the day at Trump Tower in New York City, according to a Trump transition team spokesperson.
“I am seriously considering Dr. Ben Carson as the head of HUD," Trump said in a Twitter message. "I've gotten to know him well — he's a greatly talented person who loves people!"
Last week, Carson's business manager Armstrong Williams said the former surgeon had turned down an offer to serve in the Trump administration.
Carson ran against Trump for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, but endorsed Trump shortly after suspending his own campaign.
