Donald Trump Would 'Love' to Settle Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Trump said that the conflict settlement would be a great achievement, considering the fact that many US presidents made efforts to reconcile the parties.

"I would love to be the one who made peace with Israel and the Palestinians," Trump was quoted as saying by The New York Times reporter Mike Grynbaum on his Twitter account.

As regards Syria, Trump pointed out that it was a problem "we have to solve." However, he did not present any plan on crisis resolution, just adding that he had a "different view than everybody else," referring on his claims that the United States should cooperate with Russia in combating the Islamic State (IS, banned in Russia).

Trump met with journalists from the newsroom and opinion staff at The New York Times. The interview included such issues as Trump’s relations with US President Barack Obama and his former rival Democrat Hilary Clinton, transitional team, Middle East policy and various internal problems like freedom of speech.

On November 8, Republican candidate Donald Trump won the US presidential election with 290 electoral votes.
