MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The so-called nation-building is often related to the military intervention into internal affairs of other states aimed at establishing new governmental structure on the US model.
"I don't think we should be a nation-builder," Trump was quoted as saying by The New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman on her Twitter account.
Trump met with journalists from the newsroom and opinion staff at The New York Times. The interview included such issues as Trump’s relations with US outgoing President Barack Obama and his former rival Democrat Hilary Clinton, Syrian crisis, Israeli-Palestinian peace process and various internal problems like freedom of speech.
On November 8, Republican candidate Trump won the US presidential election with 290 electoral votes.
