WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Frank von Heiland, chief of intelligence force management and training for the 25th Air Force, said in Wednesday’s release that "advances in technology, innovation and creative thinking offer an opportunity to revolutionize how we educate, train and develop our Airmen.”
He explained that the Texas-based 25th has introduced “a competency- and proficiency-based approach” to training that draws on interactive media and digital apps “to create effective, engaging learning experiences.”
The 25th Air Force has developed a program, Mobile Applications and Games for Intelligent Courseware, or MAGIC, that incorporates unclassified, cutting-edge interactive applications for presenting complex, highly technical concepts, according to the release.
In addition to apps, Air Force trainers also use virtual-reality games that give trainees the experience of being aboard an aircraft or on the battlefield, the release added.
