MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Farage noted that he had known several members of Trump’s team for years and thus he could be useful in boosting relations between the United Kingdom and the United States as a third party if he was invited to do so.
"I'm going back to America at the end of this week, I'm going to meet all sorts of people and I shall say to them 'regardless of whether the Government uses me or not, please forgive some of the things that were said about your president during the election campaign, it's in both of our interests to get closer," Farage said Sunday on a LBC radio show.
Beside the position of UKIP Leader, Nigel Farage has been a member of the European Parliament for South East England since 1999. Last week, Trump suggested that Farage become the UK ambassador to the United States, saying in a Twitter posting he would do a "great job." According to the BBC, the British government rejected this proposal by saying the position was already filled.
