German police stormed flats of four men, suspected of financing Jaber Albakr, who was allegedly plotting terrorist attack in one of the German airports, local media reported Wednesday.

BERLIN (Sputnik) — According to Spiegel Online newspaper, the searches were conducted in the flats of brothers Mohammed and Abdullah S., and brothers Muhammed Nour and Mustafa Al-F., all of whom are Syrian citizens.

The search for Albakr, a 22-year-old Syrian native, still continues. On October 8, police in the eastern German city of Chemnitz were conducting operation on suspicion of a bomb attack preparation. Police stormed one of the flats in Fritz Heckert district of the city but Albakr had fled by then.

Germany remains on high terrorist alert in the wake of two lone-wolf attacks in Germany's Bavaria in July. Responsibility for both attacks was claimed by the Daesh jihadist group, which is banned in Germany and Russia, as well as in many other countries.
