In the leaked clip, obtained by FTVLive, Malveaux is seen preparing to go live and asking what details she should share. An off-camera producer is then heard saying, “if I do this, it means he landed,” then a few moments later adding, "that means his plane's crashed — just kidding."
Malveaux looks stunned and surprised at the comment, before laughing it off.
Scott Jones of FTVLive told Sputnik News that he was given the video by a “source,” but would not elaborate.
CNN has apologized to the Trump transition team and disciplined the unnamed producer.
“An unfortunate and inappropriate remark was made by one of our producers off camera yesterday,” a spokesperson for CNN told TVNewser. “We have apologized to the Trump transition team, and the producer has been disciplined.”
Trump and his supporters have long asserted that CNN is biased against him, even nicknaming the station the “Clinton News Network” during the election.
During a private meeting with high-profile members of the press in November, Trump reportedly lashed out at Jeff Zucker, CNN's president.
"Trump kept saying, 'We're in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong,'" a source who was present at the event told the New York Post. "He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was [a] network of liars.”
"I hate your network. Everyone at CNN is a liar, and you should be ashamed,” the president-elect reportedly told Zucker.
With this latest video, it seems unlikely that the relationship will improve.
