WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A teenager who reportedly was charged with killing his adoptive parents in Texas holds Russian citizenship, and is registered with the consulate, Press Secretary for the Russian Embassy Nikolai Lakhonin told Sputnik on Friday.
“The teenager has been registered with the consulate since 2005, he is a Russian citizen,” Lakhonin said.
Police responded to a phone call from an anonymous caller who claimed Carl admitted killing his parents while smoking marijuana. Upon arriving to the house, police found the bodies of Carl’s parents, according to Dallas News. The teen was arrested following a several-hour standoff with police.
According to media reports, the Brewers had three adopted children from Russia, while Carl was the only one still living with the parents.
