"Only today the American authorities informed us that a Russian citizen was injured in the events in Ohio," a Russian Embassy representative told RIA Novosti on Friday, adding that the person was now "ok."
The Columbus Dispatch released a list of people injured in the Ohio State attack earlier this week. The list included "Pavel Sergeev, 23, of Russia" who was said to be an international student. According to the release he received "moderate injuries."
On Tuesday, the Islamic State (Daesh) radical group, banned in the United States, as well as Russia, claimed responsibility for the attack. The group said one of its "soldiers" carried out the attack in response to Daesh call to target members of the US-led coalition fighting the group in Syria and Iraq.
