MOSCOW (Sputnik) – In July, a World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) commission led by Canadian sports law professor Richard McLaren presented a report based on the investigation results, in which Russia was accused of running a state-wide doping program. The second part of the report is expected to be presented on Friday.
"It will be clear after December 9 what will happen. There will be another attempt [of an attack] against Russian sports," Mutko told R-Sport.
He also added that the attacks aiming to discredit Russia through sports will continue, such attitude achieves its goals.
"This ceaseless [number of attempts] to discredit Russia through sports will continue, it of course is reaching its goals."
Earlier this week, media reports emerged claiming that US Olympians were mulling a boycott of the world championship in bobsleigh and skeleton, scheduled to take part in Russia’s Sochi in February. According to The New York Times newspaper, the US athletes have the support of the US Olympic Committee.
"[We should] treat it calmly … I am completely certain that the athletes have nothing to do with it… Someone is pushing them to do these things. If they don’t come, what can you do. We’ve survived boycotts, they will lose a lot."
