The arrest in Cuba of dissident artist Danilo Maldonado for posting a satirical video about Fidel Castro following the longtime leader’s death reflects a continuing crackdown on political speech, US-based human-rights group Freedom House said in a release.

Fidel Castro's Ashes Arrive in Santiago de Cuba for Funeral Ceremony
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Maldonado, a graffiti artist known by the moniker "El Sexto," posted a video of himself on Facebook, referring to Castro as a horse and urging Cubans to celebrate his death, the release explained.

"Democratic governments and international civil society should press the government to release Danilo and end its frequent arrests of those who attempt to speak freely," Freedom House director for Latin America Carlos Ponce said in Tuesday’s release.

On Tuesday, long lines of Cubans with flowers in hand continued to arrive at a monument in Castro’s hometown of Santiago, where ashes of the revolutionary leader were interred Sunday.
