WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Donald Trump will nominate former World Wrestling Entertainment executive Linda McMahon as head of the US Small Business Administration, the president-elect’s transition team said in a release.
"President-elect Donald J. Trump today announced his intent to nominate Linda McMahon to serve as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration, a cabinet-level position," Wednesday’s release stated.
Trump said that with McMahon as its CEO, World Wrestling Entertainment grew from a 13-person operation into a publicly traded company with over 800 employees. He described her as one of the country's top female executives, advising businesses around the world.
McMahon was twice, in 2010 and 2012, the Republican candidate for a US Senate seat from the state of Connecticut, where she lives. She lost both races.
She currently serves as on an advisory board for APCO Worldwide, a communications consulting firm for public emergency-response agencies, and is co-founder and CEO of Women's Leadership Live, which helps women launch and expand businesses.
