WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Puzder, the head of CKE Restaurants, got a nomination for the head of the US Department of Labor on Thursday.
"As CEO of CKE Restaurants — a massive conglomerate whose properties include Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s — Puzder outsourced key jobs overseas, planned to replace workers with machines to avoid paying benefits, repeatedly and loudly opposed raising the minimum wage," Weingarten stated on Thursday.

Weingarten noted that Puzder hired union-busting firms to prevent his own workers from forming unions.
Moreover, Puzder opposed the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, because it would require his businesses to provide quality healthcare to employees.
Founded in 1916, the American Federation of Teachers is a national labor union that represents more than 1.6 million members in the education sector.
