"The work on the green wall is complete," the spokesperson said, as cited by the 24matins.fr news website.
The wall, funded by the United Kingdom, a kilometer-long (3,280-foot) long and 4-meter-high (13-foot) and its construction costed 2.7 billion euro ($2.8 billion), the website said.
The construction of the wall, launched in September to prevent migrants from entering Calais from the nearby migrant camp, was finished some two months after the French authorities dismantled the facility. More than 5,500 residents of the camp were relocated to special accommodation centers across France.
Europe has been beset by a massive refugee crisis, with hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrants fleeing their crisis-torn home countries in the Middle East and North Africa to escape violence and poverty.
