WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Overall, 48 percent of those surveyed said they approved of the Trump transition thus far while 48 percent voiced disapproval, the poll revealed.
"One major reason Trump's transition approval lags well behind his predecessors' is that members of the opposition party are far more critical of Trump than they were of prior presidents-elect," a press release explaining the poll said.
Just 17 percent of Democrats gave Trump positive marks for his transition, compared with approval rates of 53 percent and 50 percent from Republicans as Democratic Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton were setting up their administrations, the poll showed.
During the transition for Republican George W. Bush, Democrats gave the incoming president’s decisions a 93 percent approval rating, according to the poll.
