Moscow is closely following the discussions in Brussels on the issue of extension of anti-Russian sanctions, but for Russia the continuation of the EU sanctions regime will not be a surprise, Andrei Kelin, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's European Cooperation Department told Sputnik.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Andrei Kelin said the issue of extending the sanctions would soon be considered in the EU.

"Of course, we are closely monitoring all the discussions underway in the European Union in this respect. I think that extension of the sanctions will not be a surprise for us," Kelin said.
