Those involved into Syrian conflict are guilty of blocking access for humanitarian workers in Syria, UN special envoy for Syria’s adviser Jan Egeland said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – All parties on the ground are guilty of blocking access for humanitarian workers in Syria, UN special envoy for Syria’s adviser Jan Egeland said Thursday.

"All of the parties on the ground are guilty of blocking access for international humanitarian workers. I cannot recall a war where this has been such an acute problem in the last generation. We hope this will change, we pray it will change, we are ready to assist," Egeland told a briefing.

In Syria, the protests resulted in clashes between the government forces and opposition. Since then, the Middle Eastern country has been mired in a war, which involves Syrian army, numerous opposition factions, as well as terrorist groups, and which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of casualties. International community, including Russia and Jordan have undertaken a number of steps to settle the conflict.
