US Intel Community Waging 'Disinformation Campaign' Against Trump – Congressman
15:44 GMT 15.12.2016 (Updated: 11:26 GMT 06.08.2022) The US intelligence community may purposely be trying to discredit President-elect Donald Trump and his victory in the election, Republican congressman Peter King charged in an interview Thursday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The lawmaker from New York also said other members of Congress could be leaking false information about alleged Russia's interference in last month’s US election to attack Trump.
"It’s almost as if people in the intelligence community are carrying out a disinformation campaign against the president-elect of the United States," King told Fox News Channel.

15 December 2016, 15:24 GMT
King criticized Wednesday’s decision by the heads of the Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau Investigation and Office of the Director of National Intelligence against an immediate briefing for the House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee on purported evidence of alleged Russia’s electoral meddling.
The agency heads said they would brief the committee once their investigation is completed, but King said they are obliged to do so now.
Russia has repeatedly denied widespread claims by US officials that it tried to interfere in the November 8 election, to the benefit of Trump. Moscow has called the allegations absurd and an attempt to distract the Americans from domestic issues.
