MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iran hopes to sign a cooperation agreement with the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) next year, Iranian ambassador in Moscow Mehdi Sanai said Friday.
"Tehran is conducting a serious dialogue with the Eurasian Union. There is hope that a cooperation agreement will be signed in 2017," Sanai said at a Persian studies forum in Moscow.
Russian-Iranian relations have reached an unprecedented level over the past several years, he added, noting that development took place across areas including politics, defense, economics, tourism and culture.
"What we are seeing today is an embodiment of the historical experience of our peoples," Sanai said.
