MOSCOW (Sputnik) — During his December 15-16 visit to Morocco, Patrushev held talks with his Moroccan counterpart Abdellatif Hammouchi as well as Interior Minister Mohammed Hassadim, according to the statement.
"The bilateral cooperation between judicial authorities, special services and law enforcement agencies were addressed, in order to help combat terrorism and religious extremism, cross-border criminal activities and drug trafficking. There was an exchange of experience on improving the counter-terrorism regulatory framework to address threats in cyberspace. Special attention was paid to combating the use of Internet technologies by terrorists and the spread of extremist ideology via Internet," the statement said.
In addition, Patrushev and the Moroccan officials discussed the issues of regional security, in particular, situations in North and Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
