Lavrov Expresses Condolences to Turkish Counterpart Over Kayseri Terror Attack
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini condemned the car bomb blast which hit Turkey's central city of Kayseri and expressed condolences in a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, the EU External Action press service said Saturday.

"The EU strongly condemns all acts of terrorism. The PKK [Kurdistan Workers' Party], including its affiliate TAK [Kurdistan Freedom Falcons], is listed as a terrorist organization in the EU, with action being taken against them by the EU institutions and the Member States," the press release said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu also expressed condolences earlier in the day to the Turkish authorities over the attack.

Earlier in the day, an explosive-laden car blasted near a military bus with soldiers, at least 13 of whom were reportedly killed, with 55 injured. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the PKK, outlawed in the country, was responsible for the attack.
