MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and discussed the situation in Syria with a focus on evacuation from Aleppo, the Kremlin press service said.
"The sides exchanged views on the Syrian issue with an emphasis on the situation in Aleppo, in particular, the issue of evacuation from the city of civilians and militants who are ready to lay down arms," the press service said.
The two leaders also discussed holding the intra-Syrian talks in Kazakhstan between the government and the opposition.
Putin and Erdogan notified the high level of the Russia-Turkey interaction in promoting the Syrian settlement and agreed to continue maintaining close contacts on this issue.
