MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was killed by a gunman in civilian clothes at an art gallery exhibition opening in Ankara earlier on Monday. Three other people were also injured in the attack.
The minister said in a statement that the attacker was identified as a 22-year-old native of the Manisa province in Western Turkey.
According to the minister, the assassin was a graduate of the police academy and served in security forces for over 2 years.
