He Thought the KKK Was Okay, Until They Interrupted
23:48 GMT 11.01.2017 (Updated: 16:51 GMT 12.01.2017) The confirmation hearing for Senator Jeff Sessions for the office of Attorney General under the upcoming Trump administration was interrupted by a pair of shouting men dressed as Klansmen. They wore foam fingers that said "Go Jeffie Boy!" and "KKK" while facetiously declaring their support for the Alabama Republican.
Sessions has been haunted by a comment he made some thirty years ago, where he said "I thought the KKK was okay, until I found out they smoke pot." Sessions has called the comment a joke and apologized for it, calling the Klan "a force for hatred and bigotry."
