WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Thousands of cyberattacks target the US Army networks on a daily basis, Cyber Command head Lt. Gen. Paul Nakasone said at a Defense One forum on Thursday.
"We see a number of different [cyber] intrusions every single day," Nakasone said. "Tens, hundreds of thousands a day."
The commander noted that the Army has built 41 cyber teams. He added that the military along with the Department of Homeland Security has been working on understanding what critical infrastructure is and identifying vulnerabilities across the network.
The assessment is being done by a cyber protection team of 30-40 people. These teams have been operational for three to four years, Nakasone said.
