The establishment of a new airline means that easyJet will become a European company with three airlines, headquartered in Austria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
In March, the EU’s task force on Brexit warned chief executives of British Airways, easyJet and Ryanair airlines that strict EU rules following Brexit would not allow them to freely operate flights between EU destinations and instructed the relevant companies to move their head offices to the union and sell a majority of stakes to EU-based shareholders in order to stay in the market, according to media reports.
