"We will see what this meeting will lead to. It should result of course not in some empty speeches, or plans without any specific parameters. It must be concluded with the absolutely specific things. I believe, that after this meeting, taking into account its results and the way it would be held, the relevant conclusions will be made on where we are going and so on," Zakharova said to the Russian Rossiya 1 TV channel.
The next round of bilateral consultations on the Russian-US issues between Ryabkov and Shannon is planned to take place in Washington on Monday, July 17. The meeting was initially scheduled for June 23, but was subsequently postponed by Moscow due to the "lack of US readiness for the comprehensive discussion."
The issue of the Russian diplomatic compounds in the United States seized by Washington as well as the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats from the country in late 2016 due to Moscow's alleged interference in the US presidential election is expected to be addressed during the talks.
Earlier on Friday, Zakharova said at a regular press briefing that Moscow expected Washington to make specific offers at that meeting on how to resolve the dispute with the seizure of Russian diplomatic properties.
