US Expands Anti-Iran Sanctions Over Ballistic Missile Program
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Iranian government must release US citizens and others imprisoned on false national security charges, the US Department of State said in a press release on Tuesday.

"We call upon Iran to release US citizens Baquer Namazi, Siamak Namazi and Xiyue Wang, and all other unjustly detained US citizens, so that they can be reunited with their families," the release stated.

The State Department noted the United States is concerned about reports the three men’s health is declining while in prison.

"Iran should immediately release all of these US citizens on humanitarian grounds," the release added.

Siamak, a dual US-Iranian citizen, was detained by Iranian authorities in October 2015, and his 81-year old father has been in custody since February 2016. In October, both men were sentenced to ten years in prison.
