WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, four Democratic lawmakers penned a letter to Vice President Mike Pence, requesting Kobach's resignation and calling commission's actions a voter suppression technique. The letter comes amid widespread refusal by US states to provide voter information to Kobach.
"The commission is not set up to prove or disprove President Trump’s claim," Kobach said on CNN ahead of his panel convention later on Wednesday. "This commission is going to be looking at real figures, real numbers, real voter rolls and real cases. [It] is simply to put facts on the table."
On May 11, Trump issued an executive order to establish an Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, and ordered the commission to issue a report laying out the vulnerabilities in voting systems and other practices that could lead to fraudulent voter registration or voting.
