WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — "Trump today announced his intent to nominate the following individuals to key positions in his Administration… Mark T. Esper of Virginia to be Secretary of the Army," the release said on Wednesday.
Esper previously served as a Vice President for government relations at the Raytheon Company, the release added, and is an Army, Defense Department, and Capitol Hill veteran who served with distinction in the Gulf War.
Esper will be Trump’s third pick for the Army secretary. The first two nominees, Vincent Viola and Mark Green, withdrew their names.
