MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier this month, US media reported that Donald Trump, Jr. met in June 2016 with Veselnitskaya, expecting that she would present a sensitive information about Hillary Clinton, but quickly understood she did not have any relevant information, and the parties moved to the problem of the adoption of Russian children by US nationals, which was the main theme of the conversation. Veselnitskaya, in turn, denied that she had offered any negative information on Clinton.
"If the Senate wishes to hear the real story, I will be happy to speak up and share everything I wanted to tell Mr Trump, last year before the Congress (when they decided to change the agenda). I will share everything I know about this situation when millions came into my country and billions left it – and nobody paid taxes. And it is up to the US to figure out where this money went," Veselnitskaya told the broadcaster.
Veselnitskaya told the RT that Goldstone seemed to use her figure as a "product for promotion" and that she was not aware about possible mediators in the meeting.
"I don’t know that person! Apparently this guy is just a music producer… My guess is that this man is used to selling and promoting ideas, some product. So he decided that I would be this product for sale and promotion. I had no idea that there would be intermediaries. It was a private request made in a private manner – no more, no less," Veselnitskaya said, as quoted by the broadcaster.
On July 14, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office refuted the claims of the authority's involvement in the meeting between Trump Jr. and Veselnitskaya as "totally untrue," in an interview with RT broadcaster.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Kremlin knew nothing about the Russian lawyer who allegedly lured Trump's son to a meeting.
