The Judiciary Committee scheduled a hearing for July 26 with Trump Jr. and Manafort listed on the schedule as witnesses.
Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the committee, and her Republican counterpart Senator Chuck Grassley have said they would be willing to subpoena both men to appear before the committee in connection with the investigation into the Trump campaign’s reported ties with Russia.
Both the Trump campaign and Russian officials have denied the allegations.
Last week, US media reported that Trump, Jr. met in June 2016 with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, expecting that she would present a sensitive information about his father’s election rival Hillary Clinton. Manafort was also present at the meeting, CNN reported on Sunday.
Veselnitskaya denied that she had offered any negative information on Clinton, and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he had no knowledge of the attorney.
