WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States has determined that exports of steel concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) from Taiwan were dumped in the US market and sold at unfair prices, the US Commerce Department said in a final finding issued on Friday.
"Today, US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross today announced the affirmative final determination in this antidumping duty (AD) investigation finding that steel concrete reinforcing bar from Taiwan is being sold in the US market at unfair prices," the Commerce Department said.
The department said exporters from Taiwan sold steel concrete rebar in the United States at 3.50 percent to 32.01 percent less than fair value.
The US Customs and Border Protection will impose duties on steel concrete rebar imported from Taiwan based on these final rates, it said.
Last year, imports of steel concrete rebar from Taiwan were valued at around $53 million.
