"Within last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 17 cases of firing in the provinces of Damascus (8), Aleppo (7) and Latakia (2). The Turkish party has registered two cases of ceasefire violations in the province of Damascus," the ministry said in a daily bulletin.
Most cases of random fire occurred in the areas controlled by the militants of terrorist groups, such as Jabhat Fatah al Sham (formerly known as the Nusra Front) and Islamic State, both banned in Russia.
The Syrian nation has been affected by the civil war for more than six years. The violence has resulted in a large-scale humanitarian catastrophe. Such states as Russia and Turkey among others have been taking steps aimed at the de-escalation of tensions in the crisis-torn state and at the settlement of the crisis.
