MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson are expected to hold a meeting on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers Meeting (FMM) in Manila this weekend, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik on Tuesday.
"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is planning to participate in the ASEAN events, as well as in the ministerial meeting of the East Asia Summit, in which US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will also take part. The ministers will see each other," the source said.
Tillerson said earlier in the day that he will meet face-to-face with Lavrov on the margins of the meetings in the capital of Philippines at the end of the week.
