MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Aerospace Forces Day, which is celebrated annually on August 12, will be marked with epoch-making 20th-century planes and cutting-edge aviation presentations, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Friday.
"It is planned to set up in-air and on-land presentations of modern aircraft and renovated World War I and World World II planes," Shoigu said at the ministry's teleconference, describing the event program designed for August 12 celebrations.
The minister also informed that a number of festivities would take part in Moscow Region's Patriot Park and the cities hosting headquarters of the four Russian Military Districts, namely St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Khabarovsk.
"A large entertainment program for children and the youth is also developed," Shoigu added.
The Russian Air Force, which merged with the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces forming the sole Aerospace Forces in 2015, will mark its 105th anniversary on August 12.
