"Today's article in the New York Times is disgraceful and offensive to me, my family, and our entire team. The allegations in this article are categorically false and represent just the latest attempt by the media to divide this Administration," Pence said in a statement released by the White House.
The US official added that despite any "fake news" his team would continue working on implementation of Trump's agenda and re-election of the incumbent president.
Trump won the presidential election in November 2018 beating the Democratic Party's Hillary Clinton. The victory made Pence the country's vice president. A total of 14 former US vice presidents, were later the country's presidents, including Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Richard Nixon and George Herbert Walker Bush.
