MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Embassy in China received no information regarding the country’s citizens possibly injured in the earthquake in the Sichuan province, spokesperson of the embassy told Sputnik on Wednesday.
"At the moment we received no reports about Russian citizens injured in the area of the earthquake, we continue to clarify the information," the spokesperson said.
The 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of the Sichuan province late on Tuesday, killing at least 12 people and injuring over 160.
Another powerful tremor of 6.4 magnitude hit China’s northwestern Xinjiang region on Wednesday. According to local media, three people were injured.
