WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The CNN broadcaster reported Wednesday citing own sources that the congressional investigators had found an email of Rick Dearborn, Trump's incumbent deputy chief of staff, sent to the campaign officials in June 2016 and informing about an individual trying to connect the representatives of then-Republican presidential nominee with the Russian leader.
The news outlet added that the only thing identifying the abovementioned person was the information that he was from "WV," which had been understood by one source as West Virginia.
The US Congress is currently investigating Russia's alleged meddling in last year's US presidential election, as a number of media outlets, such as The New York Times, and officials, like Trump's rival Hillary Clinton, have accused Moscow of interfering in the election process.
Russian officials, including Putin, have repeatedly said that Moscow has not interfered in the US vote.
